BUNSHUN: Ryo Aska (CHAGE & ASKA) was threatened by the Yamaguchi yakuza group concerning their drug transaction + more theories about Mr. Z

Ryo Aska of popular duo CHAGE & ASKA was caught on film as he was using drugs and was blackmailed by the Yamaguchi-gumi yakuza group, Weekly Bunshun can reveal.

According to ASKA and a close showbiz representative, ASKA used to live for 4 years in Hokkaido since his Jr. High days. That was where he got to know a member of the yakuza group, and eventually became his source for drugs. But there seems to have been some trouble with his recent transactions, leading to the yakuza group to use filmed evidence of ASKA using drugs through a glass pipe in order to threaten him.

Bunshun had the chance to interview ASKA in front of his house.

-----Are you a drug addict?
"No, no, not at all. Not at all. Haha."

-----We heard that you're being threatened by the Yamaguchi-gumi for some drug-related matters.
"(short silence)..... Yeah, yeah, about that, they said, 'Lend us money'. Then I said, 'I don't want to'. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and that's why we got into an argument."

CHAGE & ASKA were supposed to have a live performance for the first time in 6 years this August, but was postponed by their agency due to suspicions of transient cerebral ischemia on ASKA. (Related post HERE) Apparently, ASKA was still being threatened by the yakuza at that point.

Will ASKA be able to make his return? All eyes will be on him, including the actions that the investigative teams will take.

* This was initially reported as "Mr. X" (big-time singer) by TouSpo. "Mr. Z" (member of a major rock group in the 90s) (HERE) is yet to be revealed, but some 2channelers have come up with some more theories which we have included in this post.
